However, it probably wasn’t that hard to give the zombies the slip, as the zombies in this film walk slowly. When asked by an interviewer why they chose to have slow moving zombies instead of running zombies, Simon Pegg simply replied, "Because death is not an energy drink."

Although Phillip in his weakened state doesn’t want anyone but himself to drive the Jaguar, his final gesture is NOT to get the car keys back. He hates the music Ed is playing, so as the group abandons the vehicle, the viewer sees Phillip clawing his way to the front of the car to turn off the music and then produces a sigh of relief when it is silent.

David decides he is going to leave and opens the window. Before the others can stop him, he is pulled through the window by zombies and eaten. Although the group tries to haul him back in, the tug of war ends with Dianne holding onto one of his legs and fighting the zombies to get to the rest of David. David is portrayed by Dylan Moran, an Irish comedian, writer, actor, and filmmaker. Moran was voted the 14th greatest stand-up comic on Channel 4's 100 Greatest Stand-Ups.
How does Ed show his true colors toward the end of the movie?
Ed volunteers to stay behind with the rifle to give Shaun and Liz a fighting chance to get out alive. Don’t be surprised if you haven’t heard of hog lumps as a bar snack before. The packets were specially designed for the film by the director’s brother, Oscar. One can only imagine they would taste like pork rinds. Other names that are associated with pork rinds are Pork Crackles, Pork Scratchings, Pork Crunch, and Mr. Porky Crispy Strips.

Except for being chained up in the shed, Ed’s life hasn’t changed all that much. He still lives with Shaun and still plays video games all day. Liz and Shaun have reconciled and moved in together. As for all the other zombies, six months after the outbreak civilization has returned to normal, with the zombies now used as cheap labor and entertainment.

The movie was filmed entirely in London, on location and at Ealing Studios. Many exterior shots were filmed in and around the North London areas of Crouch End, Muswell Hill, Finsbury Park, and East Finchley. Zombie extras were mainly local residents or fans of Spaced who responded to a casting call organized through a fan website. The audience gave it a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. On a budget of $6.1 million, Shaun of the Dead earned $30 million in box office sales. For a cult film, this is a big financial success. Plus, it earned many accolades.
