When you're a kid, playing sports is a way to hang out with your friends and get snacks. Some people go on to play for their high schools and colleges, and a very small number go on to play professionally. But even if you don't play professional sports, it doesn't mean you can't still get together with your friends and throw around the pigskin or toss a baseball back and forth. Given that there are dozens if not hundreds of sports out there, how are you supposed to know which one is good for you? 

Maybe there was a particular thing you were good at like running or hand-eye coordination. Perhaps you prefer team sports to individual ones. If running isn't your style, maybe soccer isn't right for you, unless you'd be good as the goalie. There are so many aspects that go into being good at sports other than athleticism. You need to be disciplined, work well with others, and be able to handle losing and constructive criticism.
