In the first Hangover movie, Mr. Chow says that he has Doug and is holding him hostage unless he gets his drug money back. Stu gets his license suspended because the pharmacist is very suspicious of a dentist writing a prescription for himself. The prescription is for Demerol - when it's put in a drink, it will give you a real hangover. Although this film is part of he Hangover series, nobody gets a hangover until the scene in the middle of the credits.
How will Chow help save Doug from being killed?
Chow explains his plan to retrieve the stolen gold from the basement of a Mexican villa he previously owned. It includes drugging dogs, cutting wires to disable alarms, and breaking down a wall to reveal and collect the gold. However, a quick reality check is needed for this plan. Did you know an average-sized block of gold weighs 27.5 pounds? Assuming Chow has approximately 20-40 blocks in each duffel bag, the total weight of each bag would be at least 550 pounds, impossible for him to carry.

Chow double-crosses Alan, Stu, and Phil by locking them in the basement, rearming the security system, and escaping in Phil's minivan. Although the boys must be awfully dumb to not figure out how to get out of the basement. They use a 20-pound sledgehammer to knock a hole in the basement wall, but they could have used this sledgehammer to bash the door down.
How do the boys get out of jail?
They are arrested, then mysteriously released from the police station. They are picked up by a limousine and taken back to the villa, where they meet up with Marshall. They learn that Mr. Chow had lied to them; the villa was never his. In fact, it was Marshall's own villa and the gold they stole was the other half Chow didn't get from Marshall. Did you know that Sean Penn and Robert Downey, Jr., were considered for the role of Marshall?
Who kills Black Doug?
Marshall forgives Alan, Phil, and Stu for their mistake but kills Black Doug for his incompetence and reminds them of their now two-day deadline. The group tracks Phil's phone, which is in the minivan that Chow stole. The minivan is found outside a pawn shop in Las Vegas. Did you notice that the scar on Stu's neck from when Chow threatened him with a knife at the bar is on the wrong side for the rest of the movie?
Who says this to Stu? “You don't get it, Stu. You. Just. Don't. Get It. I have over 60 apps on that phone. Do you know how much time and man-hours it would take to redownload those apps?”
Alan is saying this to Stu. Alan is upset that he has lost his phone. Stu says, “You just saw a man get murdered, your brother-in-law is kidnaped. Are you sure there is nothing worse?” According to Alan, no, there isn't. Stu is played by Ed Helms, an actor, comedian, singer, and musician, known for his work on The Daily Show, The Office, and the Hangover films.

Chow escapes, jumping from the balcony and parachuting down to the strip. The parachute opens and Chow laughs. However, in real life, that stunt wouldn’t work. Alan and Phil watch Chow jump out of his Caesars Palace penthouse and his parachute deploys 5 seconds later. This means that he free falls about 125 meters, so he would be crushed on the ground before the chute opened.
How do the guys get Doug back?
Stu catches up to Chow and locks him in the trunk of the limo that Marshall lent to them. They take the gold and meet with Marshall, who releases Doug back to the group. Although Marshall initially promised not to harm Chow, he shoots through the trunk of the car. Did you notice when the limo was shot up in the trunk, the guys climb back in and drive away and the trunk does not have bullet holes in it?
How does Chow survive the shooting?
Chow survived because Alan unlocked the backseat compartment just moments earlier. This allowed Chow to escape from the trunk through the back seat. Alan also left him a gun, which he uses on Marshall. Did you notice that after Chow kills Marshall, he points the gun at Phil, who has his hands up? In the next shot, Phil's hands are down.
Six months later, who gets married?
Alan and Cassie get married. In mid-credits we see a destroyed apartment and it appears the Wolf Pack has staged another wild party that they cannot remember. Stu comes out, wearing panties, and he has had breast implants. Did you notice, that Crystal the Monkey jumps on Stu before the movie ends?
Who bought the wedding cake?
Alan remembers that Chow bought the wedding cake. Now they have to figure out what happened last night - besides Stu getting a boob-job. Mr. Chow emerges from the next room, naked, laughing, holding a bottle of whiskey, and wielding a katana. Did you know that Chow chose to be naked? Yep, Ken Jeong chose to be naked for the mid-credits scene.

Hangover Part III received negative reviews. According to review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 20%, based on 193 reviews, with an average rating of 4.1/10. The site's critical consensus reads, "Less a comedy than an angrily dark action thriller, The Hangover Part III diverges from the series' rote formula but offers nothing compelling in its place."
What did the fans think of the film?
The audience gave it a 44% on Rotten Tomatoes. It had a strong showing financially. On a budget of $103 million, it earned $362 million in box office sales. The audience polled by CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of B, on an A+ to F scale.
